Blessing of Saint Blaise: Tuesday, 3 February

Tuesday 3 February is the feast day of Saint Blasius.

Before becoming bishop of the Armenian city of Sebaste, he was a physician. A good combination: God's salvation extends to both soul and body. Persecuted for his faith, Blasius died a martyr's death. According to tradition, he even worked in prison for the salvation of the people.

During the liturgies on this Tuesday, the traditional Blasius blessing will be given. The blessing, through the intercession of Blasius, for everyone's individual health, knowing that we do not have everything in our own hands.

Everyone is welcome:

at 9.30 a.m. in the parish hall of St. Francis Church, De Schanswal 2, Emmen,

at 7 p.m. in English Eucharist in St. Paul's Church, Meerstraat 2, Emmen.
